Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Did you pick up my dog?
A: We are not Animal Control, we are a holding facility. We do not pick up animals, we only receive them. Please come to our location to verify if your animal has been picked up. We're open Monday thru Friday 11:30am-6pm.
Q: Is the microchip a tracking device?
A: No, the microchip is not a GPS tracking device. The chip itself rests under the skin and will react when scanned with a universal scanner. The scanner will read the chip's unique identification number, which we can then be used to lookup the contact information recorded under that number. Remember to always keep your pet's microchip information (phone#/address) up to date!
Q: I cannot take care of my dog/cat anymore, will you take them?
A: Unfortunately CCAC is not taking owner surrenders at this time.
Q: Do you sell Dog Licenses?
A: CCAC does not sell dog licenses for the city of Battle Creek. A license can be obtained at City Hall if you live within Battle Creek, or at your local township office. Check also with your veterinarian as sometimes they will sell licenses as well.
